A completed Rinova Pergola Turnkey Project in Costa Mesa, CA — a louvered aluminum pergola built to transform a suburban backyard into a comfortable, year-round outdoor living space. The homeowners' goals

The homeowners wanted to use their backyard patio through warm afternoons and occasional rain, with a modern look and none of the upkeep of a wood structure.

Site conditions & the challenge

Costa Mesa's warm afternoons made the patio uncomfortable, and a fixed roof would have left it dark on cooler days. They needed shade that could adjust — and last.

Design & engineering

Our louvered aluminum pergolas use adjustable louvers that open for sun and airflow or close for shade and rain protection, on a powder-coated aluminum frame that never needs sealing or repainting.

We installed a freestanding louvered aluminum pergola in Anthracite (RAL 7016) with adjustable louvers, letting the homeowners open the roof for airflow and sun or close it for shade and rain protection. Concealed gutters channel rainwater away from the seating area, and the powder-coated finish means no repainting or sealing — ever.

Permits, engineering & HOA

As with every Rinova Turnkey Project, the paperwork was ours, not the homeowners'. We prepared PE-stamped, permit-ready engineered drawings for this Costa Mesa site — footings, post loads and the structure's wind exposure — and handled the city permit process. Where a homeowners' association is involved, we prepare the architectural submittal and answer the board's questions so the design clears review.

What this Turnkey Project included

  • Free consultation and on-site measurement
  • System, size and finish recommendation
  • PE-stamped, permit-ready engineered drawings
  • City permit handled by Rinova (and HOA submittal where required)
  • Engineered footings for the freestanding posts
  • Delivery and professional installation by our own crew
  • Final walkthrough

Because Rinova sells, engineers and installs under one California contractor license (CSLB #1116353), there was one contract, one schedule and one point of accountability from the first visit to the final walkthrough.

Installation

Our crew set the footings and installed the frame, louvers and drainage as a single Turnkey Project, leaving a finished, ready-to-use outdoor room.

The result

A durable, low-maintenance outdoor room that stays comfortable year-round and looks new season after season — with the modern profile the homeowners wanted.

Warranty

Every Rinova pergola in this project carries a lifetime warranty on the aluminum structure and powder-coat paint, a 10-year warranty on moving parts, and a 5-year warranty on motors and electrical components — backed by the same company that installed it.

Frequently asked questions

Freestanding or attached — which is better?

A freestanding pergola can go anywhere in the yard and does not load the house; an attached (wall-mounted) pergola saves two posts on tight patios. We recommend the right option during the free consultation.

Do I need a permit for a pergola in Costa Mesa?

Requirements depend on the city, the size and whether the structure attaches to the house. On every Turnkey Project we check Costa Mesa's rules, prepare the engineered drawings and pull the permit when one is needed — you never deal with the building department yourself.

Can I finance a Turnkey Project like this one?

Yes. Through HFS Financial you can finance the full Turnkey Project — pergola, screens, lighting, permits and installation — with $0 down, fixed rates from 7.80% (8.08% APR) and terms up to 30 years, subject to credit approval. Check your rate in about 60 seconds.
