This project shows how our powder-coated aluminum systems stand up to Newport Beach's salt air while delivering one-touch control of sun and shade.
| Location | Newport Beach, Orange County, CA |
|---|---|
| System | Venta motorized louvered aluminum pergola |
| Finish | Anthracite (RAL 7016) |
| Add-ons | Remote-controlled louvers, integrated rain drainage, coastal-grade powder coating |
| Delivery | Turnkey Project — design, engineering, permits, footings and installation by Rinova |
The homeowners wanted their patio dining area to work in every season: shade for bright afternoons, sunlight on cooler days, and cover when it rains — without adding a structure they would have to maintain.
Just as important, they wanted one company to take the whole project off their hands rather than coordinate a designer, an engineer, a permit runner and an installer.
Newport Beach's oceanfront climate is tough on outdoor structures — salt air corrodes wood and untreated metal fast. A wood pergola would have needed re-sealing on a regular cycle, and exposed steel hardware would start to rust within a few seasons.
The structure also had to give the homeowners full control of sunlight over the dining area, which a fixed solid roof or a shade sail cannot do.
The Venta is our motorized louvered aluminum pergola: the louvers rotate on a remote so the roof goes from open sky to full shade — and closed for rain — without anyone leaving their seat.
We specified the Venta in Anthracite (RAL 7016) with a marine-grade, coastal-grade powder coat that resists salt, moisture and UV. The louvers open for ocean breeze and sunlight or close completely for shade and rain protection, all from a remote.
Concealed gutters are built into the frame and channel rainwater away from the seating area, so the patio stays dry underneath when the roof is closed.
As with every Rinova Turnkey Project, the paperwork was ours, not the homeowners'. We prepared PE-stamped, permit-ready engineered drawings for this Newport Beach site — footings, post loads and the structure's wind exposure — and handled the city permit process. Where a homeowners' association is involved, we prepare the architectural submittal and answer the board's questions so the design clears review.
Because Rinova sells, engineers and installs under one California contractor license (CSLB #1116353), there was one contract, one schedule and one point of accountability from the first visit to the final walkthrough.
Our crew set the footings, stood the aluminum posts and beams, installed the louver assembly and the integrated drainage, and connected the motor. Installation was handled entirely by Rinova — no subcontracted trades — and the homeowners were walked through the remote controls before we left.
A durable, weather-resistant outdoor room that looks brand new season after season — with zero repainting or sealing. The homeowners gained a fully usable coastal patio for year-round entertaining, with sun, shade and rain cover on demand.
Every Rinova pergola in this project carries a lifetime warranty on the aluminum structure and powder-coat paint, a 10-year warranty on moving parts, and a 5-year warranty on motors and electrical components — backed by the same company that installed it.

Yes. Our pergolas are powder-coated aluminum with a marine-grade finish; unlike wood it does not rot, warp or need sealing, and unlike raw steel it does not rust. That is why coastal homeowners choose it, and why the structure and paint carry a lifetime warranty.
Requirements depend on the city, the size and whether the structure attaches to the house. On every Turnkey Project we check Newport Beach's rules, prepare the engineered drawings and pull the permit when one is needed — you never deal with the building department yourself.
